Against all odds and incredible competition, these Tributes have weathered the Arena for over a month. I've begun to wonder if the Arena feels like home for them by now. They make trees look surprisingly comfortable! I hear there are some children in our audience who are quiet jealous, in fact. It seems they are refusing to sleep in their beds! With approximately 50/50 odds to survive this penultimate trial, the Tributes must utilize their strengths to outdo a former ally. Remaining patient and quick-witted will be crucial. Through either mental fortitude or intuition, those that can best leverage the elements of the Arena may just find the odds are in their favor. Rules: 1. You will have 2 hours to solve as many of the given puzzles as possible. 2. At the end, the number of puzzles you solve will be compared to the other tributes. The tribute in each District with the highest number of solved puzzles will be safe. 3. If there is a tie, we will look at the time the last puzzle is submitted for each person. Whichever tribute solved the number of puzzles they completed fastest will win the tie. 4. All submissions must be made in your confessional. They should be formatted screenshot with a tab of this forum visible. Using an image editing tool such as pixlr editor or paint is recommended. We also suggest being prepared to use an image hosting site such as imgur. 5. Outside sources are not permitted to be used during the challenge.
6. When you are ready to begin, use this google doc to receive the puzzles and start your time. 7. You only get one submission per puzzle in your confessional. You can put each puzzle solution as its own post or put them all on one post, but once a solution is posted you cannot edit or redo. Do not edit any posts in the confessional thread you use for this challenge.8. Other than to wish your fellow Tributes good luck, please do not discuss the challenge.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact a moderator. You will have until Wednesday at 6PM PDT to complete this challenge. As we imagine you are under enough stress as it is, we promise the results won't contain "April Fools" jokes! May the odds be ever in your favor!

post to players when ready to take on challenge (NOW BEING AUTOMATED INTO THE GOOGLE DOC): Puzzle 1: Puzzle 2: Puzzle 3: Grapes-The number in each grape (circle) is always the total of the neighbouring whole positive numbers from the line above. All the numbers in the grapes on the top line are one-digit. Fill in all the missing numbers. Note: The outer grapes in the top row are only bordered by the outer grapes in the second row. As such the outer top row grapes have the same number as their neighboring outer grapes in the second row. Eg. 4 1 1 5 2 7 Solve the puzzle & submit the image when you believe you have the correct solution. Puzzle 4: Find the 11 words below in the search & submit the image when you believe you have the correct solution. Puzzle 5: PuzzleGram-Insert numbers 1 to 12 (each just one) in the empty spaces of the diagram so that each number in a circle always equals the sum of the numbers in the surrounding parts. Two numbers are already in the right places. Submit the image when you believe you have the correct solution.

This has very signficant implications to do in the same round as the team puzzles. I get what you're trying to do. However, you've set up a situation where teams may have to discuss with each other who is better at puzzles and will discuss who is better in which types.
Player A: I'm good at crosswords and math puzzles Player B: I'm awesome at jigsaws and sudoku.
Players are now in elimination: Player A: F&$% there's a jigsaw, I'm screwed. There's no way I can win. This sucks, the mods hate me. This was unfair. Player B: F&$% there's a math puzzle, I'm screwed. There's no way I can win. This sucks, the mods hate me. This was unfair.
Then you are testing resilience and anxiety management more than actual puzzles. If this is the intent, you are cruel and this is what the Capitol would do. If this is not the intent, please be ready to either switch around the order and/or be prepared to answer to players being bothered by this. I'm not sure what should be done, but just want to point out the strong potential for backlash.
It would be much different if it's a 3-on-1 eliminator.

Two of you demonstrated mastery of the arena and have earned your place as part of the final Hybrid pair. Without further ado: In first place, completing 5 correct puzzles with a time of 47 minutes and 21 seconds, is Tetra. Congratulations, you have survived! I am sorry to bear the news that Wenya Zhu can continue no further in Hybrid: Hunger Games. They completed 4 correct puzzles in 47 minutes and 50 seconds. Their effort was valiant, but an error was made on the Grapes puzzle. It has been an honor to watch Wenya Zhu in the Hunger Games. This leaves Kirby and Susan. One of you is safe. The other has come up just short. Susan... ... With a time of 1 hour and 9 minutes and 5 correct puzzles, you have been eliminated. You have had a wonderful journey, but this sadly marks its end. Do know that you have been a joy to watch. Kirby, completing 5 correct puzzles in 53 minutes and 8 seconds, has prevailed. Kirby will soon compete alongside Tetra in the final challenge. Congratulations!
Here were the puzzle solutions: PUZZLE 1: Jigsaw PUZZLE 2: Arithmetic Grid PUZZLE 3: Grapes PUZZLE 4: Word Search PUZZLE 5: PuzzleGram

As the cannons ring out, let us take a moment to honor our fallen Tributes. Sadly, we must say goodbye to the fallen: District 8 has been eliminated from the Hunger Games.
Introducing our final Hybrid Team, who will be representing District 12: Tetra and Kirby
Their competitors, representing District 7:
Fenrir and Stitch
Congratulations, Tributes. Effective immediately, all surviving Tributes' District forums and confessionals will be hidden from the Spectators until the game is over. In addition, the Arena and the Capitol will be view-only to players for the remainder of the game.
Your final challenge to determine the winning District will be posted no later than 1 PM PDT on April 2nd; please know that we are working hard on its finishing touches. It will require a time frame where both members of your District are available to complete it, so you may begin to plan for that.
Our ideal timeline for the remainder of the game would be to finish up the final challenge by Saturday afternoon PDT on April 4th. Please plan accordingly. At that time, we would like to host our live reveal of everyone's identities and, of course, the winners. If an extension for the challenge is needed, then we will need to reschedule the live reveal accordingly. Finalists, fallen tributes and spectators are all welcome to let us know if they have a preferred time on Saturday afternoon PDT for the live reveal; we will take it into consideration, but likely cannot accommodate everyone.
