It appears you all have survived the first few deaths in the arena. That's great news! Unfortunately, as you likely learned in training, not all supplies last forever. At some point, you can't just keep running and hoping you will survive in the arena, you have to take a risk in order to prevent yourself from starving to death. Winners in the past have been able to avoid detection, living off the land for months, and eventually outlasting the others in order to become victorious.
Today we are going to focus on a few of you whose supplies are running out. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Ideally, we would like to do this as a live challenge, so please fill out the following doodle to see if that's possible: [insert doodle here]
As for what the actual challenge is? Let's get into that:
1. Every round you will have three actions you can choose to do: Hunt, Gather, or Hide.
2. You will all start out with 3 rounds worth of rations.
3. Each round you will consume 1 ration.
4. If you ever reach 0 rations, you will starve to death.
5. In order to prevent reaching 0 rations, you may choose to gather, which will take your rations back up to 3 (this can be done at any point, but you can only go up to 3 max).
6. When you choose to Hunt, you must Hunt a specific player (must be identified).
7. If a player successfully hunts another player that is gathering or is hunting someone else, their target will die.
8. If a player hunts another player that is hunting them, the fight will end in a draw and neither dies.
9. If a player hides, they cannot die, but also will be susceptible to starvation if they don't gather supplies.
10. Play will continue until we have 2 players left, those players will be allowed to continue on in this game, all others will be eliminated.
11. No correspondance between competing players is allowed in regards to this challenge. (no strategy, no challenge discussion, etc.)
12. In the unlikely event of a tie for 1 or both spots, the following parameters are in effect to determine a tiebreaker:
1. Highest Successful Hunt Count.
2. Least amount of "Hunt" actions taken.
3. Has the most Rations remaining.
4. Least amount of "Gather" actions taken.
5. Hid the least.
If you have additional questions, please reach out and ask. Once we have a time figured out we will announce the start time and date. If we cannot find a time for everyone to do this live, we will find a suitable alternative, whether that be via substitute or to decide to do this semi-live and let each round end once all players have submitted a choice. Once we have determined the best course of action, we will let you know. In the meantime please fill out the above doodle and let us know if you have questions.
May the Odds Be Ever in your Favor!
