Impressive work from all of you. This was a tricky challenge and many of you really rose to the occasion. I am sure that you Drawers are excited to see what the original image was. Here it is:
It is with great pleasure that I confer the honor of immunity to
Fenrir and
Zod of
District 3. Their drawing, while without the smoothness of technique we would expect from a Capitol-born artist, hit on all the major elements of the drawing. I judge this to be the most accurate reproduction:
The rest of you might not have won, but your art was not without its virtues. For those of you in the middle of the pack, here are my rankings and my notes:
The remaining Districts ranked as follows:
District 7 - While your Orange Man is not properly touching the Globe and your Red Face has far too many eyelashes, I want to specifically call out your attention to detail on the Globe. Good work.
District 9 - This is a very strong contender and has a strong resemblance to the original. However the Red Face is short a fang and his eyes are missing the white they should have. In addition the Orange Man's arms loop downward instead of upward, and the Globe is missing a land mass in the lower right. Apart from that, very nice work.
District 4 - Another strong contender with a few missing elements. The Red Face is missing two fangs and his eyelashes, while the Orange Man is smiling and missing a few loops on his arms. Still I was to call out a good attention to detail on the Globe landmasses. Very nice work.
District 1 - This is another contender with a strong understanding of the underlying body of the image. The Red Face does have the correct number of fangs and eyelashes, however a lower jaw has been added and colored in. Additionally the Globe is missing one of its islands to the left, and the land mass to the right. That all said, I want to call out one of the more accurate Orange Man and Blue Dude combinations. Good work.
District 5 - This was a challenging work for me to judge, because the structure of the drawing was mirrored to what it should have been. While that makes it an unfaithful reproduction, the remaining elements I was searching for still were there. While the wrong color, the Red Face did have his five fangs, even though he lost his eyelashes and obtained a lower jaw. Additionally the Purple Star was still surprised, and the general shape of the Blue dude was present. The Orange Man lost his face, but he was still present and had the loops his arm should have had. Overall good effort.
District 10 - This is another piece with a few foundational issues that prevent it from scoring higher. The Red Face has lost its shape, but the general idea of the eyelashes and the fangs do bleed through. The Purple Star is really more of a Purple Circle, and the placement of the Orange Man and Blue Dude are a bit off of where they should be. That said, the Orange Man is still sitting on the Globe and his arm loops are there. And interesting interpretation.
District 6 - This is a more unorthodox interpretation of the original. I do want to call out that the Red Face does indeed have the proper number of fangs and eyelashes, and the placement of the four characters is fairly accurate. However the Orange Man himself has lost his arms, which instead float above him, taunting him. We now know why he frowns. Honestly this is my favorite drawing, but we're not judging Seneca preferences. Nice work though.
District 8 - This is an image that I have only seen in my nightmares. The Red Face has become far more terrifying than the original, while his placement is a little off and he has gained two additional fangs. In spite of that, his eyelashes are present and accounted for. The Orange Man is a bit of an unorthodox interpretation as well, but the placement and general structure is correct, and his arms are present and accounted for. While the globe is missing a few land masses, the Blue Dude and Purple Star are also roughly where they should be, so this is a reasonable replica.
Alas as the strong rise, the weak must fall. It is with a heavy heart that I announce that
District 12 was judged to have the least accurate drawing. While it is not without certain accuracies, there are many important elements from the original that are missing. Specifically the Orange Man and Blue Dude appear to have been inverted, and the Red Face has additional fangs and gained a lower jaw.
