Yeah I just meant whether you wanted to do the difficult or easy set. I also feel like I'm average, with a large variance depending on the type.

Same. I think the thing then is figuring out which one of us will be faster at them. I feel it's going to matter a lot more during the easier ones compared to the harder ones since naturally we're going to complete a ton more easy puzzles than hard puzzles. I wouldn't say I'm great at keeping a fast pace but I'm alright at it, though sometimes I tend to panic under pressure.

OK, actually I want to talk about what we're going to do next a little bit when you get the chance after we're done assigning who does what puzzles. If district 12 doesn't get last place I'm pretty sure they're going to be the primary vote, but in case they get last or we / someone in our alliance wins immunity I wanna get your take regarding who the next nomination should be. I don't think we have a whole lot of options on our hands given we have some sort of alliance with almost everyone, but I feel worse-case-scenario would be trying to turn on 3/4/9 or 1 this early unless someone else is also down for it, but I don't feel inclined to bring it up myself tbh. I feel weakest with 8 , and they seem to be fairly competent at challenges for the most part anyways, though I'm not sure how close they are to other districts. I've been on and off about nominating 10 as well and while I don't really want to backstab them basically every other alternative would be even worse, at least on my end. So ultimately I think I'll be most comfortable nominating 8/12 for the Eliminator, though I want to know your take as well and if you're thinking anything differently.

You're right about speed mattering. I tend to do puzzles slowly, does that mean I should do the harder set? I'll do the easier one if you'll feel less pressure with the harder set though. The fact that we both called ourselves average at puzzles instead of being excited about this challenge makes me think we're not going to be competing for first place, so we just need to not get last.

We're on basically the same page, though I wouldn't be surprised if there's some resistance to sending District 12 again. District 8 is weird because 12's social game has completely tanked, but Susan is popular. I'd rather send them over any of our allies though, and I think people being sick of 12 will be enough to get them sent if they aren't immune. Our alliance with District 10 is the one I value least as well, and the four-District alliance is the one I value most.

If you feel alright with the harder set then you can take it. I don't think I actually have a preference since there's probably pros / cons to both of them, but I think I'm kind of leaning towards the easier set.

But then it's like who else would people nominated besides D12? I feel like most districts would just default to them since they're an easy target and going after them doesn't really cause them to draw any lines in the sand. I had no idea 12's game dropped a lot. The impression I got was that Susan was alright but not like a social butterfly or anything. I'm glad we're on the same page though!

I feel like a lot of people talk about Tetra positively, which makes me think she might have some allies. It would be great if they're people who like her but aren't actually allied with her. I'm one of the people that talks about her positively without being allied with her. I just didn't want to assume that the others were like me.

I've talked positively about Tetra myself to others as well, but based on my impression of her I don't think she has to many allies, and at this point I imagine districts will probably want to leave this round with as little blood on their hands as possible given how many districts are being thrown in the Eliminator this round, and 12 seems like a pretty easy choice.

That alleviates my concerns a bit. Obviously, we still have to hope that District 12 doesn't just win the challenge.

Yeah, that would definitely be worse case scenario. I remembered the first thing me and Tetra talked about were puzzles actually, so that doesn't really make me feel especially confident, but I'm thinking/hoping it's not too likely anyhow.

I won't be able to start the challenge until tomorrow since I don't have enough time today before I have to get ready for work, so if there's anything else you're thinking in terms of strategy we can talk about it until then.

We ended up doing pretty alright. At least we got the lowest time!
What are you thinking about the vote? I think 12 as the primary is pretty obvious, unless you're hearing anything differently. I haven't actually heard anything about the vote btw but I'm just assuming it's going to be that. I guess our secondary vote doesn't really matter but I'm defaulting to 8 rn.

Way to get all five puzzles!!! Sorry that I only got three of mine. Even the ones I got, I felt like I just threw solutions out until something randomly fit instead of actually solving them.
I agree that Districts 8 and 12 will probably be the main contenders, but I'm not sure which one will be prioritized. Any idea who District 4 wants to nominate?

Last I talked with Gilly they're leaning towards nominating 12 and voting out 8.

I'm a bit worried though since it sounds like 1 really doesn't want 8 to go.

If they put up a lot of resistance, District 8 could be the nomination and District 12 could be the vote instead? I won't float that idea until I get a response from River, but it seems like a plausible solution.

|
|
Post by Stitch on Mar 13, 2020 3:32:53 GMT
Yeah, that could be a good solution. I'm a bit worried that if I do mention something like "hey, 1's not going to like 8 being voted out, maybe just nominate 8 instead" they'd wonder how I found out about that and grow suspicious, or it might leak back to River and they'll end up getting mad at us instead. Or maybe they'll just straight up target 1, which I don't think it's likely but I think that'll be considerably worse. Idk, maybe I'm just overthinking things.
