Episode 2: Back in my day, we answered questions...

1. You are now part of a District! Your District's theme is specifically centered around a specific niche in The Hunger Games. Do you feel like a part of you fits the theme, or is it mostly just a silly gimmick you don't really care much for? Why do you feel this way?

I feel like this is just a silly theme that wasn't actually based on aspects of our character-- but just for shits and giggles, I'll say an old man like me has experience with harvesting grain and whatnot. Really, I don't think it matters that much save for the changes in avatar and aesthetics that have no real impact on the game. Although I can gain a bit of information about everyone and their preferences from the order they picked. Like, River Song definitely had Shuichi first on her end.

2. As you are in a District, that means you have been paired up with someone. Is this an ideal person for you to be with or do you have reservations? What makes you feel this way?

I've taken to the school of thought 'as long as it's somebody I don't absolutely despise or haven't talked to, I'm okay', and I think that's worked out relatively well for the most part. Beetlejuice and I worked rather well in the challenge yesterday despite his short nature, and I believe we landed perfectly in the middle where we wanted to be. I really have no complaints, because I know it could be much worse.

3. Challenge scores & ratings were put up yesterday. Were there any surprises or did it all pretty much unsurprise you for the most part? What specifically seemed interesting about these ratings?

Challenge scores were pretty much unsurprising across the board, with the exception of Tapu Lele getting second place. She is an absolutely awful conversationalist. The ratings weren't actually clear enough for me to know what they were about, so I have taken a strict policy of not caring about them in the slightest and completely ignoring those parts of the results.

4. PM groups were decided yesterday, meaning you now have half the amount of people to talk to as you are used to. Is this a relief? Or are you finding some difficulties in trying to now navigate a less open social field? Have you been utilizing your District forum to exchange communication with your partner for the half you are no longer allowed to talk to? (We hope you might at some point so specs can see what sorts of info you are exchanging!)

It's... a bit of a relief, and a bit of a curse. On one hand, I don't have to worry about complex social navigation with 23 people anymore. On the other hand, there are people that I won't be able to talk to for a solid while now, like Shadow and Fenrir-- and that might harm their opinion of me. With Shadow and Montreal in particular, if they win immunity, there's a very real chance that I'll be put up on the block. And no, we've honestly been finding private messages much easier to get around than a clunky district forum.

5. The next challenge is up and it is your first District Challenge for Immunity? How do you feel about your chances? Do you feel your partner will help or hinder your ability to complete it? Elaborate.

Well, we already completed the challenge at this point, so... I'll say that in terms of our chances, we're probably not going to win any awards for our performance. But it's not the worst I've ever done in this type of challenge, I will say that. I'd place our chances somewhere around the middle of the pack.

1) How much have you and your partner talked before?

My partner and I talked the most in the game, I believe? At least, we sent the most messages between each other. Nobody else is sitting at four pages for me, which is... odd for one of these games. I mean, quantity-wise, we haven't shared the most content with one another-- but I'll live.

2) What do you feel you bring to this partnership?

Two kumquats and a passion fruit. In actuality, I'd like to think that I bring new ideas and a social game that's comprised of mainly wallposting and making people feel good about me. We even did a 'grid' strategy, which really helped out when it came to the challenge.

3) What should be your team name? The punnier the better

Juicelysses. We got the juice.

4) What twists would you like to see in this game?

Can we do a Survivor tribal where only one player on each side goes home? I'd love to vote out someone like Montreal Impact or Harbinger.

5) What's 3 things you and your partner have in common?

We're both men, we're both old, and we're both grumpy and to the point.

1) How safe are you feeling right now?

Honestly? I'm feeling safe both in terms of the eliminator and the actual majority vote. I have a really good relationship with Tracer and feel okay about Birdo, so I shouldn't have to worry about either of them targeting Beetlejuice and I-- but I also have a good relationship with the rest of the cast as well, so there's no way I get the majority vote against me unless something seriously fucky happens.

2) If you had the only vote here and didn't need to worry about social politics, who would you send to the eliminator?

Shadow and Montreal Impact. Have not received a single message from either of them. Would be the easiest vote I ever cast.

3) Are you going to focus on threats or on quieter players?

I'll focus on quieter players for now (Shadow and Montreal / Wenya Zhu and Tapu Lele), then maybe switch to the stronger players down the line? We already have a sizable buffer of inactives versus threats, so I'm not feeling all that endangered by what's been happening as of late. I already have good relationships and am 'in' with most of the cast anyways, so it should be smooth sailing getting people who don't care about the game out until something happens to shake things up.

4) If you're sent to the eliminator, do you think you'd make it back out?

Yes, but I don't want to be sent to the eliminator, because that would mean one or more pairs has it out for me or Beetlejuice in particular. I don't feel confident in every aspect of my challenge ability to the point where I could comfortably say that I'd win everything that's put in front of me, at least.

5) In theory, half of everyone you vote off will come back from the eliminator, how will you manage their anger with you voting them off?

Huh. That sounds like a question that will be a problem... later down the line! Right now, I'm voting for the people that I couldn't care less about and don't really know whatsoever. That's it. I'll get to how they feel about me when I see who survives.

Well. That was a fun two sponsors. It makes my next few rounds easier. For now, I plan on targeting Montreal Impact and Shadow again, since I still haven't talked to them. However, this round... has also potentially placed River Song and Shuichi on my hit list. If River couldn't tell me about something as simple as an advantage like this, who knows if I could trust that duo in anything further than round one? Right now, I'm hoping Wenya and Tetra come out of this thing alive.
