Okay so taking stock of what was written in this thread I have a few thoughts. 1. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK I AM SO DEAD, MAYBE NOT RIGHT AWAY BUT I AM SOOOO FUCKING DEAD, WHY DID I HAVE TO END UP IN A PAIRING WITH THE SCARIEST CHALLENGE BEAST IN THE GAME OH GOD I AM TOAST IF I GO INTO THE ELIMINATOR. 2. Okay, okay, people won't just target us off the bat if they like their partner and want to stay alive, after all if they target anyone up top they may soon follow and that is bad for at least one of the people in each pair. 3. Also a bunch of people I like are in pairs with each other, this is good, I can talk to them and everything can go well. 4. The non live element of this challenge (and a discussion with the mods to okay my idea) has given me a way to cheese this challenge, but may backfire if I am not succint in my writing. 5. I probably need to actually socialize soon, if my rating was determined the way I think it was I was definitely one of the less social and well liked partners and probably would have been like district 5 if river had someone else as their top pair. 6. Okay, well twists notwithstanding, I think River and I can make a good team and dominate the early game before we are inevitably targeted. I am really good at challenge prep and have some natural smarticles and River seems to be quite good at challenges naturally. Maybe, just maybe it'll all be okay.

Honestly I'm not surprised this happened. I have a dirty habit of being really appealing to someone really powerful while not having the overall reach that they have, I shouldn't be that surprised my pairing ended up this way, but, whatcha gonna do? This would be a great position in a survivor game, a strong fun ally who can dominate the competition with me by their side and a brewing alliance that could easily form a majority. But alas, this is not survivor, and I may already be forced into the situation of win or face elimination.

Oh also, so y'all know what I am about to do, this is what I sent to the mods when they debated whether my "strategy" for this challenge is all gucci. "So the first half I think is completely fine. I talk about where this has been done before (first or second challenge of RtC iirc) and how groups tend to combat it, probably by sweeping the image and describing everything. Some do everything at once, some do stuff one at a time, I suggest we sweep left to right, top to bottom, in a snaking way. I type that up beforehand and post it when we start since generally an idea like that would be discussed if this was being done live but before you can see the image (obviously you don't want to be tagged 12 times and maybe not have someone free so you gave us the image beforehand)
the part that I think you won't like is....me also typing up everything in my picture of note from left to right and all the details I think might be changed ahead of time and hoping that my description is good enough that river can figure out her picture without us having to have a continual back and forth. Granted it's pure speculation but you've seen how in depth my prep can be"

Round 2 questions:
1. You are now part of a District! Your District's theme is specifically centered around a specific niche in The Hunger Games. Do you feel like a part of you fits the theme, or is it mostly just a silly gimmick you don't really care much for? Why do you feel this way? 2. As you are in a District, that means you have been paired up with someone. Is this an ideal person for you to be with or do you have reservations? What makes you feel this way? 3. Challenge scores & ratings were put up yesterday. Were there any surprises or did it all pretty much unsurprise you for the most part? What specifically seemed interesting about these ratings? 4. PM groups were decided yesterday, meaning you now have half the amount of people to talk to as you are used to. Is this a relief? Or are you finding some difficulties in trying to now navigate a less open social field? Have you been utilizing your District forum to exchange communication with your partner for the half you are no longer allowed to talk to? (We hope you might at some point so specs can see what sorts of info you are exchanging!) 5. The next challenge is up and it is your first District Challenge for Immunity? How do you feel about your chances? Do you feel your partner will help or hinder your ability to complete it? Elaborate.
May the odds be ever in your favor <3

If this was actually just a fight to the death between the characters, who would win? How do you think you would do?

If this was actually just a fight to the death between the characters, who would win? How do you think you would do? I mean strictly power wise, Shadow or Kirby I think have the strongest power set, especially if Shadow has access to all the chaos emeralds.

Spectator questions! Would love to hear from you guys about your pairings and how you're feeling 1) How much have you and your partner talked before? 2) What do you feel you bring to this partnership? 3) What should be your team name? The punnier the better 4) What twists would you like to see in this game? 5) What's 3 things you and your partner have in common?

How do you feel about your chances? Do you feel your partner will help or hinder your ability to complete it? Elaborate. May the odds be ever in your favor <3 Okay, so hopefully the site won't crash this time 1. So hopefully we can become the GOLD standard of a team in this game and stay in the lap of LUXURY. But honestly, the district thing definitely feels like it'll put a target on our backs because for some reason the capitol wants to use DEMOCRACY in this game, because that's so much in their beliefs 2. So River is kind of an amazing partner. They're supportive and clever and really good with rolling with whatever I put out. Like if this game just had us partnered with someone the entire game, I'd love to be with river the entire time. But there may come a time where we get set up against each other, and I am not looking forward to that, cause I will fight hard but...I'm not sure how much of a chance I'll stand. My main advantage over River seems to be their lack of experience with challenges in games like these. Also I'm really curious who River is because I'm uhhh drawing a blank and am excited to find out who this incredibly nice person is, though I guess they could be playing stuff up for the sake of the game, but I hope that's not true. River will likely win this game, whether I'm with them to do it will be the real question. 3. Honestly, not really, if the ratings were determined the way I expected then I'm a bit disappointing because I was likely hampered by the social element of the game, which not surprising. I was trying not to stand out and I succeeded, but got paired with someone I think stands out a lot. I honestly just didn't expect River to destroy the challenge as much as they did, but boy was I proven wrong. 4. I mean I spent most of my time just uhhhh working on that challenge write up, so I should go be social shortly. 5. Having done it, I think we stand a chance of winning 14 differences in under an hour is pretty strong but might not be enough for a win, not to mention we might have gotten stuff wrong.

I mean before district River and I had 46 substantial PMs between us, and even more after we paired up (though we put all those in our district thread). 2. I mean I think I bring the prep and knowledge and River brings a massive amount of skill and support, I'd say it's pretty ideal even if we don't just hands down win a lot. 3. Well we'd likely mix our names, Probably something like "Song of the Saihara" but really, that's pretty much the song of the sahara which everyone knows is
So I guess our name is Sandstorm? 4. One where we don't die. i don't care about twists, I just want to keep my partner and not have to face them. 5. 1: Great Character Choices 2: A love of murder mysteries 3: A Ridiculous Love for game analysis and strategy

Spectator questions! Results of the second challenge are in, Birdo and Tracer took the victory 1) How safe are you feeling right now? 2) If you had the only vote here and didn't need to worry about social politics, who would you send to the eliminator? 3) Are you going to focus on threats or on quieter players? 4) If you're sent to the eliminator, do you think you'd make it back out? 5) In theory, half of everyone you vote off will come back from the eliminator, how will you manage their anger with you voting them off?

Decently safe, vote seems like it'll land on district 11 or 2, but like, I also just told shadow what was up and am hoping it won't backfire, since like I should probably keep my mouth shut, but like even if it happens, 50% he survives, so not the worst move to have him liking me. I also have acquired a quid pro pro with gilly re: being potential threats, we debated adding district 3 but gilly rather have us be a secret thing and not known to 3...a bit suspect but understandable. 2. If it was just me I'm not sure. Like, by social politics I presume you mean no repercussions in which case I think I nuke tetra and harbinger, cause like I don't talk to them at all and tetra seems to be adept and attached to gilly, who I want to have more of an incetive to work with River and I. 3. Probably quieter players, if I hadn't messed up on my description in 2 places where really, it was just basic negligence (since I intended to include something about the girl and direction and the fb icon, but I didn't) we would have won. So other threats dying make us shine brighter, that's what we need. 4. Flat No. Like I might make it close with River but I have little reason to believe that I actually win. I give myself 20% odds, and that's bad especially after you add Kurt Angle to the mix. 5. I mean goal is to let Shadow know ahead of time, less sure with Lele, goal is just to not be the sole object of ire and be like "PEER PRESSURE DID IT" or like "IT WAS YOUR PARTNER I SWEAR". I haven't thought of how to deal with that aside from, not have the power early. Like sure River and I could have won without those mistakes, but like....I think it was probably for the better District 3 get that win over us, they can be the main threats going forward.

Spectator questions! So Tapu Lele v Wenya Zhu and Shadow v Montreal Impact 1) Did you know that these were the districts being sent to the eliminator? (either by the immune pair or from feeling confident on the vote) 2) If you knew, did you in any way warn these districts about being sent and if so, what was the reaction 3) What 2 players do you want to win this eliminator challenge? 4) Describe (in as much detail as possible) the current gladiator battle that is currently going on in the eliminator 5) What's the juiciest gossip you've heard so far this game?

It likely will be more interesting in future rounds but this time it was pretty much everyone knew. 2) I told Shadow and also gave him a few challenge tips but dipped most of the rest of the day rather than talk to people. 3) I'd prefer Shadow and Wenya. Shadow is more talkative than Montreal and Tapu barely gives me anything, Wenya has an interesting personality at the very least. 4) *pulls out screen play* *clears throat* "They fight" Sorry that's all the detail I was given Peetey 5) Um so one is that Donald had an amorphous altercation with Kirby and was worried about what would come of it. The second is that Tapu purposely tanked the challenge and ignored Wenya's description. As such it might be they were trying to lower threat level or go to the eliminator on purpose. Either way it's certainly interesting.

Hmmmm....A really strange desire has crept up on me. A desire to find a way to murder the fuck out of Gilly. Gilly is social, Gilly is smart, Gilly is strategic. Gilly wants a "secret alliance", which I honestly have no reason to trust but is valuable to pretend to keep up. I also had a rough start with Gilly and while stuff like that can be recovered, I have no reason to think they will want River and I as more than a number over their other early friends. So for the time being, we will be. We will be useful to them and help them control the game, then, the moment we have a chance to decide someone's fate. WHAM, Gilly goes into the meat grinder, because they are way too savy to left alive without a lot of trust. Maybe they'll live, or maybe if they don't people will hate us, but this is the hunger games, and I'm not about to let anything get in the way of ultimate victory, and killing Gilly is on the path to that.
Ofc, this is assuming we get to that point, River and I are going to flying by the seat of our pants for a while.

Spectator questions! 2 Players down already, sponsors being thrown around and that was only round 1 1) Do you know where the sponsorships came from? 2) Are you happy with the players who came out of the eliminator and how are you now are going to deal with them? 3) If a twist allowed you to swap partners would you and if yes, who would you want as a new partner and why? 4) Looking ahead, the overall winners of this game will be determined by challenges, would you/have you thrown any challenges to reduce your threat level? 5) In the spectator area we have a thread specifically for the best and funniest quotes of the game, are there any quotes from your PMs that you feel deserve a place in this thread?
