Trainwreck District VS. Lazy Orchards Who will win?
I hope we get to keep the train logo because it's cool and the orange isn't very cool. Getting rid of district 2 was very good because green looked ugly and wasn't very high class for a high numbered district. I told people the vote was probably 11/6 and I'm not going to be around much today. I gotta go study for a midterm again.

There's been talk within our alliance and we've realized no one actually likes coco pommel, but everyone thinks that someone else likes her.
I can see the future: she will be booted in one of the next two rounds.

Having a 4-block alliance is pretty awesome at this phase because we can trust each other to discuss stuff like future boots (star/coco) without fearing for a risk of it being leaked. And with people we just met / haven't talked much to thanks to the pair mechanic of it being an 8man block.
Next 2 or 3 rounds should be very easy.

We're putting up Coco/Star. And preference is that the vote sends Montreal/Shadow up too.
D8 is making a smart move to put up coco/star. It keeps the people at rock bottom (donald trainwreck) still at rock bottom and an easy vote for the next round. Kind of like how our move to put up wenya/tapu was indended to keep harbinger as an easy vote for this round. It's actually probably the most beneficial move for me since I told star that I had no intention of targeting him. And coco is nice but can just honestly die because i want the numbers in the game to decrease.
Best case scenario this round: One or both of montreal/star survives to keep the easy vote train rolling.

My convo with stitch is too shallow and slow to try to initiate him as a deepwolf ally this round. Abandoning that idea.

Is this the objectively optimal strategy for this format?
1. Make deals with everybody. Make as many deals as you possibly can. Make them convincing. 2. Don't get involved in any drama, if you do, act like you're the least important person in it. 3. Throw every challenge in the early game because you have enough deals to keep you safe. 4. Throw every challenge in the midgame when the knives come out because you have too many deals to afford showing your cards. 5. Lategame nobody thinks you're a challenge threat because you haven't won anything so they don't see you coming until it's too late.

Yeah, I totally agree with that. Right now we're clearly in a "Pick off the inactives" stage. I don't think any of the active pairs actually care which order the inactives go in, so there's really very little to actually say about these first few votes. Although this also means I have no idea what happens once the inactive pairs run out. That'll be interesting, but there's also reasonable odds we have a swap by then; rounds 4 and 8 do sound like natural breaking points. Gilly's second line is blantantly fishing for long term scheming. Let me see if I can deepwolf her

Gilly's second line is blantantly fishing for long term scheming. Let me see if I can deepwolf her I personally believe that the phrase "shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic" is an underappreciated term. I think it really raises morale when you use it in a corporate environment! In terms of pairs that are on the bottom of the pecking order, we have D5/D6/D11/D12(?) though people seem to like tetra enough (myself included) that I'm not sure that district 12 even belongs in that category anymore. At the very minimum, this vote is easy (D5/D11), and the next vote will hopefully be easy (D6 + the survivors?/D12?) and then we probably just have one more round to get through before that hypothetical swap. I don't know what's gonna happen that far ahead but we'll figure it out. I didn't expect star and coco to get cut this soon but here we are. I feel like post-shuffle our block alliance will be a bit scattered to the winds, but can I just say how good it feels right now to be able to swap with you and even though we haven't had a chance to talk casually much, to know that I can safely talk game with you without risking anything? I want to keep that dynamic going in our little circle even if we're not an obvious block of districts anymore. It's just so healthy for all of our games. Is there anything in particular that's on your mind about the future of the game? I took the bait, let's see if she reels it in Yes I'm making these puns on purpose

Spectator questions! Time for an epic eliminator battle! 1) Did you know who was planned to be sent to the eliminator? 2) How much control did you have over this vote? Did you want these players sent in or would you rather someone else? 3) Who are you hoping makes it out here and why? 4) Only 1 player noticed my pun in my last set of questions and this makes me sad, as a punishment I want a pun from everyone about the current battle in the eliminator 5) Round 3 is coming up, what kind of challenge would you like to come here and what kind of challenge would you hate to have?

The answer to all of those questions is "I don't care" and that speaks to how good a position we are in right now. But I'll answer them anyways.
1. Susan told me. But I thought it was going to be the trainwreck district. I suppose it is a smart move to take a shot at coco though. 2. I didn't try to control it. No need. 3. Hopefully montreal and star, because imagine how easy it would be to convince everybody to send them right back. Shadow is nice, but similar to both star and coco, they're active players that I don't have a game relationship with, so it would be convenient for me if they just keeled over. 4. Actually you never noticed my district 4 fishing puns so I think we're even. 5. Who cares? I'm gonna throw it anyways. Hopefully it's a challenge I hate so I don't have to actually try to win it.

Deepwolf allies: {Ulyssses, River Song} 3479 block: {Stitch, Beetlejuice, Gilly} > {Ted Cruz} I got my eye on you: {Kirby} People I've agreed to work with: {Tracer} > {Susan, Shuichi} Implicit alliances: {Fenrir, 12} Maybe friends?: {Birdo} EZ boot tier: {Donald, Star, Pikachu, Montreal} Uneasy friendship: {Tetra} You seem nice, I hope you die: { Coco, Shadow}
Major Distrust: {Wenya Zhu}
Updates:
Underlined names are in the eliminator.
Upgraded gilly. Upgraded tracer. Spending time with susan and shuichi makes me less enthusiastic about them. Birdo is a maybe friend because of new developments, see the district thread.
Put easy boots above people who could be a threat, because easy boots are not a threat to me.

Still trying to go deep with stitch. we might be able to make it work. Gonna try next few rounds talk and see if it develops. Still finding time to meme with donald. Hey, I'd like to file a complaint, I was on the bus today and it was 10 minutes late and I didn't get to class on time.

I'm a bit hesitant to say for certain that the new hybrid pair will be thrown right back. I hear that no one really cares for coco, but I'm not discounting that shadow might pull a tetra and gain enough pity for having a weak partner that people will at least hesitate to send him back. I personally was expecting 12 to go right back in the eliminator this round but that option was off the table almost immediately. Hard agree on wanting to take out wenya. Apparently he talked with fenrir and said that he was honorable enough not to shoot right back if he won immunity... yeah right. I'm also against wild plays, and really I think we should do our best to cultivate a gamestate that discourages wild plays on anyone's part. I think what that looks like is making sure there's always an obvious boot. If we get someone like star/montreal coming back, I feel like the best move next round would be to do something like D6 / D12 just to ensure there's another easy boot for round four (ie. star/montreal + D6-12). So I think we have a similar way of thinking? My only concern is that too many likeable people come back from the eliminator and cracks start forming in the game before the pairs swap. I don't want anything exciting happening and people getting blown up and then risking getting swapped with those people the round right after. To me it's about not rocking the boat, but also preventing everyone else from being incentivized to rock the boat. sent to stitch

I feel like I don't like shuichi. If he's as charismatic with me as he is everyone else he will be easy to cement as a boring challenge threat come time for it.
I feel awful today, I don't want to PM anyone until we get new PM groups.
