Hi River, it seems we managed to pair together but uhhh. Yeah I think we put targets on our back and are going to have to shoot towards the bottom if we want to survive. Anyway, since we have this forum unless we have something personal to talk about, probably smart to give the specs what they want in here. Anyway I've been meticulously spreadhsheeting those results and I think I have an idea for what happened. You see while results may seem random we already know you have me as your number 1 (as vice versa but I don't think that's important) and that allows for a lot of clarity on how everything shook out. Allow me to point you to figure 1 in your flyer: As you may notice there seems to be a general trend among people and pairings, with the next person in line not already paired, being the first part of the next pair. So they probably just took the highest person, paired them with their top remaining choice, then took the next highest scoring person with the next. Probably what we expected anyway. What is more interesting are the ratings, and I think you may notice a lot of the scores of the lower end of the spectrum are low scoring individuals, but it's not a straight linear trend. But we can also notice lower performing but "well liked" people like Zod have a score like an 8. So I would assume that they are some combination of challenge performance and average position on people's lists as in the source material, the ratings are meant to designate threat level, which would also explain your 11. So next I have another diagram one with all the pairs and their average scores: Good news, we did far and away the best on the challenge. Bad News, we did far and away the best on the challenge and the other pairing that might be as "threatening" in that realm is Kirby and Gill,. Fen and Zod, and Stich and Ted are not far behind. Good News is we can totally work on that alliance we wanted to do before as they have a common interest, don't be the scariest pair out there. for the early game, so surviving early on, should we not challenge well, shouldn't be the hardest. We aim for the weak pairs people don't talk to and try and form a group of "careers" who won't target each other, since if we are at war that's bad for us (probably more bad for me given how amazing you were at that challenge, but bad nonetheless). Anyway, how are you holding up?

Okay but also apparently we don't have immunity and there isn't a tribal until the 2nd challenge ends? I definitely thought there would be a tribal after the first challenge and the first winner would have immunity. Weird.

Yeah that is dissapointing, it seems this was all for pairing people up and we have to win another challenge, which btw, since it's the only thing we can discuss, when can we do the challenge? Tomorrow evening is probably best for me.

Honestly then it's probably not as big of a target as I was thinking. Tapu's score was pretty close to mine, so it's not like I won by a long shot or anything. I think people are more confused by 12 getting 12 lol

I could also do tomorrow evening! I should be pretty free so we could pick whenever works best for you.

Lol who freaking knows How are you feeling about the pairs?? I was surprised to see Susan and 12 matched

I'm not surprised by many of the pairs. A lot of the people matched seemed to really like each other and were among the "power players" previously mentioned. Also a lot of really stong single competitors paired with rather weak challenge competitors, which is good for us and early immunities/power, but will be problematic as the game goes on and weaknesses of ours come up. Also Susan actually sounded like they had a soft spot for 12, and given the other people she would have wanted were taken, I think that went exactly as someone would expect.

Also, ftr if I seem too "gamebotty" or whatever, please tell me. When it comes to tasks I can zone in really tightly and I don't want that to get in the way of like, actually having fun and enjoying each others company, cause I think we're both in it for the long haul and want to make this work as good as possible for both of us.

Sorry for the delay!! Had some family visiting and figured I should probably be social lol. Also, don't ever worry about being "gamebotty" with me! I really like talking strategy and I am serious about making it to the end with you! All of this is fun to me Susan wanted me to tell you that she was sorry that she didn't give you a proper last response before being cut off!! She also said that she wants to work with us and stay in communication however possible moving forward. I feel like honestly we are in a good spot. I don't think many people loved Montreal throwing the whole challenge and there are super inactive players. Unless one of those pairs wins immunity, I think we should be alright!

Awww tell Susan that it's all right and that we are definitely willing to work with us going forward. And yeah you are probably right on the whole short term thing. Though at some point we'll want to likely have a strong pair get paired with a weak pair, as that should improve our odds of pulling off a final victory.
How are you doing this fine morning btw?

I sure will! Yeah I think we will have a better idea after this challenge (now that immunity is on the line) for who we should keep our eyes on! I'm doing great! The sun is shining....the tank is clean....THE TANK IS CLEAN! Actually, now that I think about it, my house is a little cleaner which is a great way to start the week. I think I'm going to begin my day with a donut and coffee. How are you?

Hilariously we just had some cleaners come into my apartment since we have a walk through inspection tomorrow so we can renew the lease, so that's fun. I'm having some Ramen (I know it's bad for me and cheap but I still love it). I'm still a bit tired but I'll be all right. Also if it changes I'll tell you but is around 8 PM EST good for you to do the challenge tonight. I didn't give an exact time and would rather do that sooner rather than later so you know what to expect.

Sounds good!! I need to go re-read the rules but it's my understanding that we can't talk about the pictures prior...but perhaps we can talk about how we should plan to go through the challenge?

Nope, Rules say no discussion whatsoever with each other. Oh also Teddy wants to congratulate you on having a successful pizza! He seems to really like us as a pair.

Perfect! So, see you in 10? Lol.
Honestly, I am really not super picky when it comes to music. I listen to a little bit of basically everything. If I had to choose, The Beatles are my favorite but there is heavy nostalgic influence at work there lol. I am always looking for new things to listen to! What's your favorite?
